Troullos Traditional Houses

In a short distance from Heraklion Crete, just 14 km from the city center, in the village Archanes, are the traditional apartments called “TROULLOS”. Specifically, the apartments are located in the district Turkish neighborhood where excavations revealed very interesting ruins from the Minoan period and where is conjectured that the king of Knossos had his summer palace.

We have three traditional residences, divided in apartments, which, according to the spilled lead on the stone of the front door, were built in 1871.

These residences were refurbished in 2004, with respect to the local aesthetic and tradition, with the aim of giving the visitors the chance of getting familiar to the Cretan culture.

The accommodation in our apartments is the best choice for winter or summer holidays for the admirers of nature and traditional hospitality, an ideal retreat for relaxing and for the study of the extended area of Archanes with the fine natural scenery and its antiquities.
